Qoin Sail Paradise Regatta
January 2-6

The Southport Yacht Club spectacular high summer offshore sailing regatta, Qoin Sail Paradise, will be staged from 2 to 6 January over courses set between Main Beach and the Queensland-NSW border. This five-day event with four days of racing will be staged on the beautiful ocean waters off the Gold Coast’s golden beaches allowing spectators on the shore to be enthralled by the closeness of the racing and the blaze of colour that will come from the yachts’ many spinnakers.

The event includes live entertainment nightly at Southport Yacht Club’s Main Beach Clubhouse.

Drum make-and-play workshop
January 18, 20 & 29

At this workshop, facilitator Velvet Pesu, a performance artist and percussionist, will show you how to create a drum using repurposed materials. You can customise your drum with paint pens and other decorative items. Once made, tap into your musical side and learn rhythms and beats with other participants.

Burns Supper
January 25

A night of pipes and haggis and poetry at the Fox & Hounds Country Inn, Wongawallan.
