One tour of Living Gems Toowoomba and the Kings were hooked
When Reg and Bronwyn King decided it was time to downsize from their family home, one of the first options they looked at was Living Gems Toowoomba. And, after their first visit, the couple knew this was the place for them.
That instant feeling that this is home
It was a Thursday afternoon when Reg and Bronwyn walked into the front display home at Living Gems Toowoomba. They were tired of the upkeep on their big yard and home, especially after Reg’s recent heart attack. It was time to say goodbye to maintenance and hello to fun community living!
As the Kings entered the display home, it was love at first sight. They could see the bush from the home and felt surrounded by greenery and nature. That night, they made the decision to put a deposit on the house the next day.

With homes in high demand at Living Gems Toowoomba, before the Kings had a chance to leave their deposit, they discovered another couple had already done so. It was back to the drawing board for them, but not for long.
“The Sales Manager, Michelle, took us to the new section and showed us one of the bigger blocks, which had lovely views of surrounding shrubs and trees. I straightway told Michelle we’ll take it!”, said Reg.
Living Gems transition home made life so much easier
After selling their home, the Kings then needed a place to live while their dream villa was being built at Living Gems Toowoomba. They spoke to Michelle, who organised for them to move into a transitional house within the resort.
“The transition home was all sorted within a couple of days, thanks to Michelle. Our next problem was getting rid of all our antique furniture before we moved. So, we had a garage sale, where we got rid of it all, except for a coffee table I’d handcrafted. We then bought all new furniture”, said Reg.
The next amazing chapter of life begins
The Kings are now very happily settled into their brand new Condamine home. They were very pleased to have the flexibility to flip the house design, moving the alfresco area from the western side over to the eastern side – to ensure the sun was not too hot for them to sit outside in the afternoon.
“We’re really happy with our new home. We have the perfect sized yard, lovely views of the city skyline and a lush garden is being built nearby”, said Reg.
Community living doesn’t get much better than this
The happy couple are making the most of the luxurious community facilities. For Reg, swimming in the resort pool is now one of his favourite pastimes. While Bronwyn, who still works full-time as a nurse, enjoys doing arts and craft with friends.
“We’ve made some very good friends, who love to have a joke, which is what we love. Plus, every day when we take our dogs for a walk, we’re always stopping for a chat with neighbours. It’s a great lifestyle”, said Reg.
He adds, “We also really appreciate the resort managers, Mark and Michelle. Whenever we’ve needed something done or a question answered, they sort it straight away for us. They’ve been amazing.”
