OPAL BY LIVING GEMS

WHERE THE COUNTRY MEETS THE CITY

Opal by Living Gems occupies 18 landscaped hectares in Logan Village, a former rural hub that is now at the heart of Brisbane’s regional growth corridor. Pioneers developed Logan Village around the river system. The resort lake and the local waterways attract a variety of birds and wildlife; turtles are a major talking point. This resort links with almost nine hectares of naturally forested parkland with fishing platforms on the banks of Logan River.

OUTSTANDING FACILITIES

A gated entry, a wide tree-lined boulevard and landscaped streets frame a range of international award-winning two and three bedroom freestanding and duplex homes. Active over 50s, retirees and seniors enjoy the outstanding resort facilities. The social centre is the country club. The country club features a bar and lounge, dining areas, a grand ballroom with a theatre stage and a luxurious cinema.

A barbecue pavilion overlooks the lake and the magnificent solar-heated, partially covered swimming pool and spa. Sports and exercise facilities include a bowling green, tennis court, croquet lawn, walking and cycling tracks and games room plus a fully equipped gym.

Residents can join a group in the art and craft studio, hone their talents in the music room or host meetings in the conference room. There is a well-stocked library with computers, a commercial kitchen and a fully equipped workshop.

Onsite services include a hairdressing salon, local pharmacy prescription collection and delivery of medical supplies and a resort bus service. Shops, medical services and public transport are within easy strolling distance. Major hospitals are located nearby in Logan, Brisbane and on the Gold Coast.

Ruby by Living Gems resident Trish Allen says there’s never a dull moment in the lifestyle resort. “While we all enjoy our privacy and the tranquil surroundings we also like a bit of fun. Activities may involve entertainment, a bowling competition or a trip away. It’s like being on cruise ship holiday all year round. The difference is we go home to a lovely home, not a little cabin,” she says.

Trish and Kevin Hiam made the move from Melbourne and set up home at Ruby by Living Gems. Trish says it was a major decision but they are very pleased with the outcome. “We researched a number of options. We shopped around and eventually decided on Ruby by Living Gems. We liked the facilities, Dudley the dog is welcome and the price suited our budget,” Trish says.

Marilyn and David Doecke say moving to Opal by Living Gems was a great decision. “You don’t need a plan to have the perfect retirement, you just need the courage to take the steps. We now play an active community role as library coordinators. We might spend 30 minutes organising the library but the walk home takes much longer as we talk to friends on the way,” he says.
