1. Queen Mary Falls
Take a leisurely stroll through the stunning rainforest to the top, and then base, of spectacular Queen Mary Falls. At the main lookout you can see the 40 metre tall waterfall spill over the edge and plunge to the bottom. The walk is 2 kilometres, so allow 40 minutes to complete the track. When you’re finished head back to the main carpark, set up a picnic and soak up the surrounding ambience.

2. Glengallan Homestead
First built in 1867, Glengallan Homestead has undergone extensive renovations to bring this historic building back to its former glory. Take a step back in time and relive the Glengallan story from squattocracy to farmer settlement. Drive down when the markets are on, take a tour and then head over to Rudd’s Pub for some grub on the way back home.

3. Murphys Creek
Located at the foot of the Great Dividing Range, Murphys Creek is a beautiful bush destination. Local birdlife is abundant and not afraid to g’day. Why not make a holiday out of it and stay at the nearby camping ground; a peaceful and invigorating experience. Pop down for the monthly market and enjoy local produce, home-made treats, collectables, arts and crafts and many other goodies.
How to get there from Toowoomba: Drive 10 minutes north on the New England Highway to the Blue Mountain Pub at Harlaxton; drive three minutes north on the New England; turn right onto Murphy’s Creek Road and drive for 12 minutes.
4. Jondaryn Woolshed
Located approx. 45 kilometres from Toowoomba, Jondaryn Woolshed is the oldest operating woolshed in the world. Take a self-guided tour of the woolshed and working museum village. Bring the whole family; kids will love exploring the animal nursery, cheese factory and train rides. Jondaryn Woolshed often hosts exciting events for Australia Day and New Year’s Eve.
